Taqueria Charly Reviews

This is a fun little place. Food was great the first two times we visited. The third time it was good but not great. Also service is hit or miss. Depends on when you go I guess. I would still go again though. Be prepared if you're a gringo though no hablo inglés here.

Ordered the torta cubana and added extra meat for $1. Food was ready in 3-5 mins. It's really good

The best tacos I've EVER had!! I get the trompo/pastor tacos. Omg amazing!!! I wish I could come here everyday!

Amazing carnitas and barbacoa. Flavor was packing. Fast and friendly. Easy access on/off interstate. We will make this a regular stop coming to/from Louisiana.

Honestly, what can I say. I came in hungry, I left with an al pastor breakfast burrito the size of my head and for those who know me, I have a big head. The best part was it was legitimately tasty and very well balanced in terms of its ingredients. "Bigger" isn't always better with burritos, when some places decide to give you a pinch of meat but then 4 whole cups of rice. The lady at the cashier register was also super nice and friendly, which to me often times separates the 4 star places to the 5 star places. I'll definitely be coming here again next time I'm up North. I would provide a picture but I ate the burrito too fast.

One of the best taco joints around In a gas station, tucked in the back, they're always very nice, and the food is always delicious and consistent All the meats Corn tortilla unless somethings wrong with u A1, 5 Stars, A+ Highly recommended *If u like loud music and elote, u won't miss the stand in the parking lot lol, decent, I hit it sometimes, but the tacos are where it's at..

The Torta cubana is amazing. The tacos are always so delicious as well. They have a smaller menu but what they do have always meets the mark. A staple in my house when it comes to eating out.

Close to my work, highly recommend Trompo tacos, also best torta cubana ever. Large portion and great seasoned fries. Love this lil place inside the gas station.

Flavorful Mexican street tacos! I got trompo (al pastor) and barbacoa tacos on corn ($2 each) and they were delicious. I need to go back to try the lengua (beef tongue). This no frills gas station taco stall is legit, and I can't wait to go back!

Passed the Chevron station a million times even when car was on fumes! Northwest Highway and 635 area. Seedy motels and a porn shop down the street! Tire shop in the place of the drive through car wash. Elotes stand in between! Lots of walkers in this area. Dissatisfied with my search for street tacos and wouldn't you know it!?! Taqueria Charley pops up with rave reviews!! So I strapped up and made the journey! Walking in , immediately met with a wall of tchotchkes and impulse by items! Could barely see the cashier through the tunnel of torch lighters, flashlights, axe body spray and feathered "Harry Hines" gift items. I asked where's the tacos? Pointing her finger , I was directed to the rear of the station through one of two isles stacked with Mexican candy and sodas! This place is tiny! To my amazement, a staff of 3-5 people cooking away! The sweet young lady took my order and cash. I must have beat the rush . As I waited the line began to grow quickly. I grabbed my order and bolted. 12 bucks for 3 Trompo tacos on flower. Opened my to go box and was surprised at the plating and the amount of food. Fresh onions, cilantro, peppers, and radishes! Huge portions of Trompo and fresh tortillas! This place is the hidden gem of Dallas and has some of the best street tacos I have ever eaten! Don't let this area keep you from visiting. The homeless are harmless. The people are friendly. The food is amazing.! I have been back several dozen times since. Check it out. You'll see what I mean!
